Terms and Conditions
These terms cover your use of this website and the services Start Up Club provides. Your written quote or proposal sets out the specifics of any project. If it says something different to these terms, the quote wins.
About us
Start Up Club is run by Anton Caines, based in Nottinghamshire, UK. "We", "us" and "our" mean Start Up Club. "You" means the person or business using the site or buying from us.
Using this website
- The information on this site is general and is there to help you decide whether to talk to us. It isn't financial, legal or tax advice.
- Savings figures, estimates and tool results are indications based on the details you enter. Your actual costs and savings depend on your business and the provider's final offer.
- Aura, our website assistant, is automated and can get things wrong. Please check anything important with us before relying on it.
- Please don't misuse the site, try to break it, or copy its content or design without permission.
Our services
We offer website design and builds, hosting and support, smart tools and automation, growth services, and help reviewing and switching card payments. Each project starts with a quote that sets out what's included, the price, the payment schedule and the expected timescale.
A project goes ahead once you accept the quote, in writing or by making the first payment.
Prices and payment
- Prices are as shown in your quote. One-off build fees can be paid in full or in the instalments agreed in your quote.
- Monthly plans, such as hosting, support or growth, are billed monthly from the date they start and continue until cancelled.
- If a payment is late, we may pause work or hosting until it's paid. We'll always let you know first.
What we need from you
Most projects depend on content, images, logins and feedback from you. Timescales assume we get these promptly. You confirm you have the right to use anything you send us, such as photos, logos and text.
Changes and revisions
Your quote includes a reasonable round of revisions. Work outside the agreed scope, or major changes once a stage has been signed off, may be quoted separately. We'll always agree this with you before doing it.
Ownership
Once your project is paid in full, you own the content and design created specifically for your site. Until then, we keep ownership. Third-party tools, platforms, fonts and code libraries stay under their own licences. We may show finished work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
Hosting and third-party platforms
Your site and tools run on third-party platforms and services. We pick reputable ones, but we can't promise uninterrupted service and aren't responsible for outages or changes made by those providers. Where we can, we'll help sort any issue quickly.
Card payments
Where we help you review or switch card payments, the payment provider decides whether to accept your application and sets the final terms. Your contract for card processing is with that provider, not with us.
Cancelling
- You can cancel a monthly plan at any time by emailing us. It ends at the end of the current billing month.
- If you cancel a one-off project part-way through, you pay for the work done up to that point.
- If you're buying as a consumer rather than a business, you may also have a 14-day right to cancel under UK consumer law. If you ask us to start work within that period, you'll pay for the work done before you cancel.
Liability
We take care in everything we do. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise:
- we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for lost profits, revenue or business opportunities
- our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you've paid us for it
If you're a consumer, this doesn't affect your statutory rights.
Privacy and law
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any disputes.
